Sonya’s Pilates journey began in 2006, when a sports injury led her to discover the healing power of Pilates. With regular practice, she was able to improve her movement and strength without aggravating her injury, and ultimately avoided surgery. Passionate about her newfound love for Pilates, Sonya dove into her studies, becoming certified as a Pilates instructor through the BASI program in 2017.
Sonya is a firm believer that the enhanced body awareness and control gained through Pilates complement other physical pursuits, such as hiking and strength training.
Always striving to improve and evolve, Sonya also recently completed the BASI Mentor program to continue her professional development. She’s determined to share her knowledge and inspire others to experience the transformative benefits of Pilates.
